Testimony Concerning the Incorruption of the Relics of St. Anastasy of New York (+1965)

Protodeacon Andrei Psarev published a note in the Facebook group Historical Studies of the Russian Church Abroad for July 12, recalling that on this day (June 29/July 12) in 1906, the episcopal consecration of Metropolitan Anastasy took place. Archpriest Stefan Pavlenko commented on this note:

“According to the account of Stefan Sabelnik, a disciple of the iconographer Archimandrite Cyprian (Pyzhov), when they began installing the marble slab over the grave of Metropolitan Anastasy, Fathers Cyprian and Stefan opened his coffin and examined the remains—and were astonished to see that the holy relics of the Metropolitan were completely incorrupt and intact. These holy relics await their time to be revealed to the Orthodox world.”

Holy Hierarch Father Anastasy, pray to God for us!
