On August 31 of this year, His
Grace Bishop Ksenofont of Raška and Prizren in Exile, accompanied by His Grace
Chorepiscopus Maximus of Novo Brdo and Pannonia and members of the clergy,
visited the property on which the first women’s monastery of the Diocese of
Raška and Prizren in Exile on the American continent is planned to be
established and built. The property is located in Canada, in the town of Saint
Andrew, one hour from the capital, Ottawa.
The Bishop familiarized himself
with the condition of the property, the buildings situated on it, and the work
completed thus far, and gave his archpastoral blessing and guidance for the
continuation of the work.
The arrival of the sisterhood is
expected in the very near future.
We give thanks to God and to the
Holy Myrrh-bearing Women, to whom this new Serbian Orthodox holy place will be
dedicated, for their heavenly blessing upon the establishment of yet another
place of worship in our diocese, which will serve the Serbs of Canada as
another refuge, source of strength, and stronghold in the Orthodox Faith.
