Thou wast merciful, saying prudently: “Even if the Holy Mysteries are performed by Sergius and his henchmen, yet these are only efficacious for those who are ignorant of their unrighteousness; but for those who perform these Mysteries, and do so knowingly, and are aware that they are mocking the Holy Church, for such all these things are unto their judgment and condemnation.”
