Metropolitan Agafangel, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad
February 13/26, 2024
Very true and timely are the
words of Saint Theophan: “Throw out of your head the ravings about the good of
the people and humanity.” The aspiration to establish “the good of all
humanity” on earth is a struggle against the Heavenly Kingdom, direct unbelief
and opposition to Holy Scripture—a deed essentially satanic, which has been
thoroughly proven by centuries of such attempts. Rebellions in the name of this
goal were usually led by God-fighters desiring to seize power over nations (for
example, the Freemasons), and such slogans were promoted to simple people by
outright deceivers to win them over (for example, the communists).
Ideas of “universal justice,” and
even more so, calls to “struggle for it,” in the light of Orthodoxy are
heresy—it is inadmissible to deceive oneself and to hope for an unattainable
“universal justice” here on earth. All the more is this inadmissible for a
church organization (one may recall the Moscow Patriarchate in the USSR, which
declared the ephemeral goals of communism to be its mission—supposedly, that
the attainment of the “bright future of all humanity” is the traditional goal
of Christianity). Yet another ruinous heresy (for many people—in the most
direct sense, both earthly and Heavenly), for which the Moscow Patriarchate
does not even think of repenting.
***
As Saint Theophan teaches in his
letters to his spiritual children — live in the circumstances in which you
live, pray to God and love your neighbors, act toward people as the Lord
commanded — and you will be saved. Of course, there are cases when there are
persecutions and threats to life — then flee from this threat, if you do not
wish or do not see the meaning in struggling against it. This is how the Lord
Himself acted, and how His disciples acted.
***
The idea of “universal justice”
is alive, and unfortunately, will live until the end of this world — it is used
by various globalists, and many simple people are deluded by it, ultimately
finding themselves in the nets of political forces behind which the devil
hides. On the basis of this satanic idea, various political projects are built
— from the “Russian world” to the “European Union.”
The Moscow Patriarchate, being a
creation of Stalin, has proven incapable of freeing itself from his dead
embrace to this day, and evidently will not be able to do so in the future.
Thus, in our time, the Kremlin heirs of the communist dictator, with the help
of the Moscow Patriarchate, are attempting to forcibly impose upon Ukraine
their satanic Soviet heresy. Truly satanic, since one of the main ideas of the
20th and 21st centuries is the union of the incompatible — Christ and Belial,
Orthodoxy and communism, the red and the white idea. The Moscow Patriarchate,
in combination with the Stalinism inseparable from it, is SATANISM. And this
evil is now being spread under the guise of "historical Russia,"
which was in fact destroyed by these very satanists. Their founders and "earthly"
fathers are the Soviet God-fighters; it is from them that the current Moscow
authority, both political and “spiritual,” takes its origin. It has no other
origin — as is clearly demonstrated now in the example of Ukraine. Those
believers in the Russian Federation who think they are within Orthodoxy are, to
great sorrow, mistaken. In reality, they profess materialistic Stalinism
without realizing it. Truth cannot be mixed with falsehood, and in the Moscow
Patriarchate they form an inseparable unity — therefore, those who think they
abide in the truth are in fact abiding in falsehood. A truly believing Orthodox
Christian cannot remain in a community in which even the slightest part is
mixed with falsehood.
***
When they shall say, "peace
and safety," then sudden destruction cometh upon them (1 Thess. 5:3).
God grant that the time may come
when believing people, not only in the Russian Federation, but throughout the
world, with the help of God, will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff
— will cleanse Orthodoxy from the foreign Soviet imprint. Only then will the
revival of true Christianity be possible — for when combined with evil, the
Orthodox faith is defiled and turns into its opposite.
***
It is impossible for us to be
deceived and deluded. We must firmly believe that true justice and true peace
are possible only in the Kingdom of God, which cannot be established by men on
earth. And the Kingdom of God begins in the soul of a person and in the church
community, where one must strive with all one's strength to establish Christian
relations — this is entirely sufficient for us, and nothing more is needed.
