The Prime Minister of Greece: Blasphemer against God and Deceiver of the People

Protopresbyter Ioannis Diotis | July 23, 2025

Much has been written about the scandalous visit of the Prime Minister to Mount Athos. As I have understood, it has not been commented on, among other things, that the Prime Minister declared that he visits Mount Athos also as a “pilgrim.” A true pilgrim enters holy places with religious reverence and piety. The Prime Minister provocatively pretends to possess these. Was it not he who shut down all the Holy Churches of Greece under the pretext of the pseudo-pandemic of the coronavirus? Was it not he who prohibited Holy Communion? Such things did not happen even during the Turkish occupation nor during the German-Italian occupation. This same Prime Minister zealously acted so that Parliament would vote for the pseudo-marriage between perverse homosexuals and for the adoption of unfortunate children by them.

In this way, the Prime Minister fought against the sacred institution of the family and profaned the Mystery of Marriage. He even globally disgraced Greece. The news was transmitted throughout the world that Greece is the first and only Orthodox country which legislated marriage for transvestites, sodomites, and homosexuals.

And something further, terrifying, concerning the Prime Minister. He said he came to venerate the holy place of the Panagia. However, the Panagia was profaned, insulted, and publicly outraged in the National Gallery through a wretched distortion of her face and with a cigarette in her All-Holy mouth. Even after the reinstallation of this shameful, blasphemous, and demonic painting (as well as other such paintings of Saints), the Prime Minister did not remove the responsible minister. He himself still remains completely silent, despite the overwhelming general outcry.

A form of deception was also observed during the said Prime Ministerial visit. While it was written—and not denied—that 9 (nine) Abbots of Mount Athos disapproved of this visit and did not attend the reception, how then was it presented on television that the whole of Mount Athos unanimously received the Prime Minister's visit? The responsible authorities of Mount Athos have an imperative obligation to issue a relevant clarifying announcement.

Conclusion: The excommunicated and faithless Prime Minister mocks both God and the People. He is a blasphemer against God and a deceiver of the people.
