Unity and Hypocrisy

George Dimakopoulos | February 18, 2015

Regarding the latest developments in our ecclesiastical sphere, we would like to encourage our brethren in Christ to prefer peaceful silence, condescension, and above all, prayer. In the midst of a storm, no one strikes against the other, but together they look for a way to be saved! There is no need for outcries, grandstanding, and slogans. An issue has been magnified, proclaimed through f.b. [Facebook], reproduced, and is tending to become a series [of pronouncements].

Who remembers Saint Chrysostomos the New Confessor and leader of our sacred struggle, who, amidst extreme spiritual circumstances and "brotherly" backstabbing, had to unite and preserve the small flock of the Orthodox, when zeal without knowledge, anathemas, and tumult shattered the unity of walling off?

But the hypocrisy of all of us is also incredible! For years and years, we have asserted that we must work to finally unite the flock of the Orthodox of the Patristic Calendar, and when that time comes, we begin a struggle to divide this unity...!

The only heresy in the sphere of the Patristic Calendar is Matthewitism, from which many among us suffer, not by accepting exactitude, but by the standardization of the canons and their interpretation with a medieval and arbitrarily unexplainable zeal.

In conclusion, the present situation serves not only Ecumenist New Calendarism but also the partisan dithyrambs of the frantic schismatics.

Pray!
