Comment from "Secret School": In recent days, an online dialogue has been taking place regarding the validity of the Mysteries. The positions of our blog are well known, and we do not intend to write anything new on the matter. From the recent articles that have been published, we agree with the writings of Panagiotis Simatis ("Thoughts on Valid and Invalid Mysteries") and Fr. Paisios Papadopoulos ("RESPONSE TO THOSE WHO CLAIM THAT THE MYSTERIES PERFORMED BY THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET BEEN CONDEMNED BY A COUNCIL ARE INVALID"), whose positions align with ours, as they have already been expressed in the past by our own theologians (former Metropolitan of Florina St. Chrysostomos, Fr. Theodoretos [Mavros], Aristotle Delimbasis, etc.). However, on the matter, we are publishing a text sent to us by our brother and collaborator, Mr. Dionysios Polymenopoulos.
The issue of the validity or invalidity of the Mysteries of the official "Orthodox" Churches has unfortunately divided the Orthodox of the Patristic Calendar for many years, and also, unfortunately, those who distanced themselves after the Pseudo-Council of Crete, including clergy, monks, and laity. The heresy of the last days is the worst heresy of all time, because it attempts to undermine not just one or more dogmas, but the very essence and meaning of the Orthodox Church. This heresy, of Ecumenism and support of Ecumenism, which will persist until the time of the Antichrist, as prophesied by Saints of our Church, will be worshiped even by ecclesiastical leaders of that time, who will be presented as leaders of the Christian Church, yet will be apostates and traitors. This heresy, which the official "Orthodox" local Churches appear, to a greater or lesser degree, to be supportive of, is a deceptive and simultaneously camouflaged heresy. It does not openly express its treacherous dogma against the Orthodox faith, but in a disguised manner and with double-speak, it appears as a supposed effort of love and reconciliation towards the heretics. The result is the creation of confusion through the words, actions, and attitudes, or the ecclesiastical diplomacy, of today's leaders of official "Orthodoxy."
The compassionate forbearance of our Lord, for the sake of His people, particularly the simpler clergy, monks, and laity who, in good faith or due to insecurity, follow those who are essentially misguided in their Orthodox approach to dealing with heresy, should not surprise us. Orthodoxy has always been what expresses and fulfills the will of our God, whether this is in accordance with the precision of the sacred canons, or whether it is a not human, but God-pleasing economia, which in such cases essentially prevails over the letter of even the sacred canons. The will of God, in every instance, is the SUPREME LAW and CANON, and blessed are those who truly desire to be servants of the Lord, to keep their soul open and their mindset humble, so that they may be informed by the LAWGIVER of His just will in each case and humbly obey it.
The official "Orthodox" Churches are already on spiritually slippery ground due to their support of Ecumenism, which is expressed in words and deeds, either actively or through ecclesiastical tolerance of this heresy. But to this day, at least, our Lord, while resting in those who preserve the Orthodox dogmas undefiled and simultaneously live an Orthodox and spiritual life, has not abandoned the Mysteries of the official "Orthodox" local Churches, possibly for the reasons mentioned above.
Therefore, I consider that the view held by some Old Calendarist Orthodox, that the Mysteries of the official "Orthodox" Churches are invalid, graceless, or even non-existent, is a mistaken opinion stemming from excessive zeal. On the contrary, those among the clergy, monks, and laity who follow the official Churches and dare to call the Mysteries performed by Orthodox clergy of the Patristic Calendar or by separated Orthodox clergy invalid, graceless, or non-existent, due to the real presence of heresy, blaspheme directly against the Holy Spirit. For while they themselves, actively or passively, follow and submit to clergy who in turn accept, either by conviction or by tolerance, pro-Ecumenism, they dare to insult the Mysteries that are absolutely pure from an Orthodox doctrinal perspective, performed by true and exact Orthodox clergy. Orthodoxy has triumphed, brothers and fathers, and it will again triumph over the darkness of heresies.
- Polymenopoulos Dionysios (Steliou Mavrommati 5, 26442, Patras), former principal and at the same time very sinful, who glorifies God for the Mercy He shows him.
