On the Russian True Orthodox Church Bishop and His "Self-Baptism"...
A notable incident within RTOC involved Bishop Hermogenes (Dunikov), who, in the autumn of 2009, performed upon himself an act unknown to Orthodoxy—a "supplementation of the water side" of the baptismal rite through triple immersion. He announced this action during a joint meeting of the Synods of the True Orthodox Church of Greece and RTOC in Athens in October of the same year. This fact was suppressed by the RTOC Synod for over three years until a public scandal erupted. Following this, by decision of the RTOC Synod on December 18–21, 2012, he was suspended from priestly ministry for one year.
